University of Arizona center Peter Tiberio has helped the United States Men’s U-20 squad to a second place finish in the Junior World Cup held in Kenya.

The United States finished 2-2 with victories over the Cayman Islands and Namibia. The Junior Eagles lost to Kenya in pool play. However, they advanced to the championship game due to points superiority on the table.

Ultimately, the Juniors lost to Romania in the championship match 25-13 in front of a large crowd in Nairobi. Tiberio played all four matches for the USA at center.

Tiberio, who played outside center for the Wildcats, joins a list of recent Wildcats who have all represented the United States. They include USA U-19 flyhalf Trent Fischer, USA U-19 fullback Tim Moxness (both sophomores returning for three more years at the U of A), and former All American and USA U-19 player Jordan Kohn.

Tiberio helped the Wildcats to an 8-6 overall record this season and a #25 ranking according to U.S. Rugby News.
